The Doncaster Connection

Thrilled to have been invite as a guest on The Doncaster Connection Podcast!

Hosted by Rajnish Madaan, each episode features a creative from Doncaster where they talk about their work, life and passions. In this episode we chat about my work as a researcher and designer in the health sector; we covered how difficult it can be to describe yourself as a creative, my career and my additional work as a pet portrait artist and jewellery maker.

Thinking through how I articulate what I do to an audience was so valuable to me - and so this episode will help anyone wanting to better understand my work and how I got here. I hope it will also inspire others to believe that being a ‘jack of all trades’ or someone spinning multiple, seemingly random plates, can in fact be so powerful and make you truely unique in the world.

My connection to Doncaster

I’m originally from Conisbrough, Doncaster and I studied at Doncaster College before leaving for Edinburgh College of Art. I moved back to Consibrough for 5 years after University and working in London for a few years. I now live in Rotherham however you can take the lass out of Donny, but you can’t take the Donny out of the lass!

Hope you enjoy a listen to this podcast, and Raj’s backlog of excellent guests - I’ve learnt something from every episode!
